The Foundation Stone and Dr Zeylmans van Emmichoven

In our third session of the Anthroposophical Society in Southern Africa’s Annual Conference (held on 20th June 2022), we spoke with Estelle Bryer about her relationship with Dr Zeylmans van Emmichoven and the significance of his role in bringing Anthroposophy to South Africa, and his book on The Foundation Stone. She mentions how this quote from Steiner stayed with Zeylmans:

“…if a sad epoch were to come over the earth, in which millions upon millions of people were to fade into unspirituality, then even if only a dozen people remained with radiant moral and spiritual enthusiasm, still the earth would shine with sun-like spirituality.”

– Rudolf Steiner, from “Willem Zeylmans Van Emmichoven: An Inspiration for Anthroposophy : a Biography” By Emanuel Zeylmans, page 56.
